Babyproof

It's officially that time again...That time when that once sweet little baby who was just being rocked in my arms and quietly sitting in his swing has started crawling around on all four's, pulling himself up on the furniture, sticking everything in his mouth, bee lining it for the steps, trying to stick those tiny fingers in the sockets, opening up drawers and cabinets, and giving little side grins that mean I am up to no good and I know it! It's the time when we as parents are encouraging him to take his next step, clapping our hands, and cheering him on with pride. It's also that time when we know we need to baton down the hatches! And so we put up the gates, plug up the outlets, make sure all the cabinets and drawers are locked, clear off the coffee table, put all of the cleaners and medications high up out of reach, and secure all wires and TVs because no, we can't just stick him in a helmet and a plastic bubble(which would be way easier) for the next few months.
We know regardless of all our baby proofing there are going to be bumps along the road and whether we're ready or not there's no stopping this one from exploring this new world around him. All we can do is try and breathe easy again knowing we are doing all we can to keep this guy safe.
